What is the best healthy food diet?
A lot of foods are chalk-full of vitamins, minerals, and nutrients you need for optimal health. But there are some foods out there which can be both healthy (and tasty) that you might not already be eating. This answer will take you through some of the best tasting, healthy foods that will give your body lots of benefits.
Fruits and berries
Did you know fruits and berries are some of
the world’s healthiest foods? They’re nutrient dense and offer a ton of health
benefits. And because they don’t require any preparation, they’re very easy to
incorporate into your daily diet.
Apple
Apples probably top the list of fruit touted
as the healthiest. It is the only food on earth with its own trace mineral
blend. Apples are loaded with fiber, vitamin C, and numerous antioxidants. They
are very filling and make the perfect snack if you find yourself hungry between
meals.
Avocados
Avocados are one of my favorite fruits. I
eat them almost every day in some form (and not just the guacamole, which is
amazing). They’re creamy, tasty, and it should come as no surprise that they’re
loaded with healthy fats. It was a challenge to choose between blackberries and avocado for my top spot. Blackberries have a lot going for
them too: high in antioxidants, high in fiber, high in vitamin C. However, you
can’t really beat a whole avocado when looking for a fruit with the most
nutritional bang for your buck.
Nuts and seeds
Nuts and seeds are the perfect weight loss foods. No matter how many calories
they contain, their high fiber content ensures that you don’t gain weight. A
study published in the Journal of Human Nutrition and Dietetics found that
people who added nuts to their diets actually ended up consuming fewer calories
every day than those who didn’t. Plus, research published in the New England
Journal of Medicine showed that adding healthy fats—such as nuts—to meals helps
control blood sugar levels, which can help you lose weight.
